Tit for Tat

Although most of The Mulla Nasruddin stories depict Nasrudin in an early small village setting, the tales deal with concepts that have relevance to today’s time and people. In *Tit For Tat* Nasruddin one day was repairing his damages roof, when a stranger calls him down repeatedly to ask him something. When he finally went down the stranger asks him if he could borrow money from Nasruddin. Nasruddin insists he come up to the roof and then does a Tit for Tat.

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

The Pied Piper of Hamelin Today, we tell the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin to our children to teach them a lesson in morality, that lesson being don't make promises you don't intend to keep and don't back out on a deal. And today we usually tack on a happy ending with the children of Hamelin all being released from the cave they were being held in when their parents finally decided to keep their part of the bargain. A number of theories suggest that children died of some natural causes such as disease or accident and that the Piper was a symbolic figure of Death.

The Flower Seller

A flower seller , traditionally sells flowers on the street. Often the flowers are carried, in a basket. The profession has mostly died out in countries like the United Kingdom, but still exists in India. I have always seen this flower seller engrossed in his work of making flower garlands at Central Avenue, Powai, Mumbai.
