Advance Punishment

In Romanian the existing Nasruddin stories come from a versed compilation edited in 1853 by Anton Pann, a philologist and poet renowned for authoring the current Romanian anthem.
In *Advance Punishment* Nasruddin asks his son to fetch a pot of water. He also punishes him and reminds him not to break the pot. 
He punishes his son in advance as there would be no point in punishing him once the pot was broken.
